The Biden administration didn’t just waste taxpayer dollars—it flung billions of them off the deck in a desperate rush before leaving office. That’s the jaw-dropping discovery EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin has just exposed: $20 billion quietly funneled into an outside financial institution, placed beyond normal oversight, and handed to just a handful of environmental groups.
And Zeldin isn’t having it.
A “Gold Bar” Scandal—And the Rush to Hide the Money
In a bombshell video announcement on Feb 12, 2025, Zeldin pulled back the curtain on what he called an unprecedented scheme by Biden’s EPA to stash taxpayer funds before Trump’s new administration could step in.
“An extremely disturbing video circulated two months ago featuring a Biden EPA political appointee talking about how they were ‘tossing gold bars off the Titanic,’” Zeldin revealed.
The phrase wasn’t just dramatic—it was damning.
Biden’s EPA, knowing it was on its way out, rushed billions of dollars out the door with almost zero oversight, dumping it into accounts controlled by a small group of organizations.
Zeldin’s investigation has uncovered exactly where the money landed—and now, he’s making sure it comes back.
The Stunning Discovery: $20 Billion, Stashed and Scattered
According to Zeldin, his team at the EPA has located the so-called “gold bars”—roughly $20 billion in taxpayer funds placed outside of direct government control, in a move unprecedented in EPA history.
“This scheme was perfectly designed to obligate all of the money in a rush job with reduced oversight,” Zeldin explained.
Although he didn’t name it outright, the funding structure and amounts align with the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF)—Biden’s massive climate financing program that set up a new system of “green banks” to distribute taxpayer money at the discretion of private entities.
Among the most striking findings:
- $7 billion of this money was sent to a single organization, Climate United Fund, an entity now tasked with handing out billions to environmental initiatives.
- Eight groups in total were granted responsibility over the entire sum, without direct federal oversight.
- The funding was set up in a way that makes it extremely difficult to track or reverse.
Zeldin wants answers:
“How do these organizations decide how to allocate funding? How much money have they given out so far and to whom? Are there any former Biden EPA staffers who are now working at these entities?”
He also made clear that there is no suspicion of wrongdoing by the financial institution itself—instead, the problem lies in how the Biden administration funneled the money out with no clear checks and balances.
The Zeldin Plan: Take Back the Cash
Zeldin isn’t wasting time. His next move? Terminate the financial agent agreement and force the return of the entire $20 billion:
“The bank must immediately return all the gold bars that the Biden administration tossed off the Titanic. EPA needs to reassume responsibility for these funds. We will review every penny that has gone out the door.”
Zeldin has also announced that:
- The Inspector General’s office will be brought in to conduct an investigation.
- The Department of Justice will be looped in for further legal action if needed.
- Oversight measures will be restored, ensuring taxpayer money is no longer dumped into shadowy green slush funds.
The End of Biden’s EPA Money Machine
“The days of irresponsibly shoveling boatloads of cash to far-left activist groups in the name of environmental justice and climate equity are over,” Zeldin stated.
And he’s right. The Biden administration treated climate spending as an unchecked piggy bank, using taxpayer money to fund environmental nonprofits, NGOs, and private investment schemes—all without meaningful government oversight.
But under Trump’s leadership, the EPA is back in the hands of responsible fiscal stewards.
“As President Trump has vowed,” Zeldin declared, “we are going to usher in a new golden age of American success for the citizens of every race, religion, color, and creed.”
That success starts with cleaning house—and with Lee Zeldin leading the charge, Biden’s wasteful EPA era is officially over.
